Digital Twin™

A permanent, digital replica of every product — tracking its entire lifecycle from manufacture to disposal, with every event recorded forever.

Section 1

Overview

What is it?

A Digital Twin™ is a digital replica of a physical product that tracks its entire lifecycle — from the moment it's manufactured, through shipping, sale, service, ownership transfers, and finally disposal. Every event is permanently recorded.

What does it do?

Manufacturers, owners, service centres, and regulators can see the complete history of any product — when it was made, who owned it, what repairs were done, and where it is now. It's a permanent, tamper-proof record.

Why was it created?

Products have no unified history. Service records are paper-based and lost. Ownership transfers are manual. Recalls can't identify affected products. IDFlow was created to give every product a permanent, digital lifecycle record.

Who is it designed for?

Manufacturers, product owners, service centres, insurers, regulators, and anyone who needs to verify a product's history.

Section 2

Counterfeit products enter the market undetected

7.

Insurance companies can't verify product history for claims

8.

Regulatory compliance is paper-based and slow

9.

Product disposal and recycling is not tracked

10.

No standard way to maintain a product lifecycle record

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Digital Twin™?
It's a digital replica of a physical product that records its entire lifecycle — manufacture, shipping, sale, service, transfers, and disposal. Every event is permanent and tamper-proof.
What events are recorded in the Digital Twin™?
Manufacture, quality inspection, shipping, warehouse arrival, sale, ownership transfer, service and repairs, recall repairs, and disposal. Every event is recorded by a verified party.
Can someone tamper with the Digital Twin™?
No. Every event is permanent and tamper-proof. Only verified parties (manufacturers, service centres, owners) can record events, and every event is cryptographically signed.
Can I see a product's Digital Twin™ before buying?
Yes. Scan the product's QR code. With the seller's consent, you can see: manufacture date, ownership history, service records, recall status, and accident history.
How are service records added?
Verified service centres record service work directly in the Digital Twin™ — parts replaced, labour, diagnostic reports. This creates a permanent, verified service history.
Can previous owners be identified?
No. The Digital Twin™ shows the number of previous owners and dates of ownership, but not their names. Personal information is protected.
How does the Digital Twin™ help with recalls?
Recall Intelligence™ uses Digital Twin™ data to identify exactly which products are affected — by component batch, production date, or serial range. Only affected products are recalled.
What about accident history?
If a product is repaired after an accident, the service centre records it in the Digital Twin™. This provides a verified accident history for second-hand buyers.
Can insurers access the Digital Twin™?
Yes, with the owner's consent. Insurers can verify product history, ownership, and condition — speeding up claims and reducing fraud.
How is disposal tracked?
When a product reaches end of life, the disposal or recycling is recorded in the Digital Twin™. This supports sustainability tracking and circular economy initiatives.
Does the Digital Twin™ work for all products?
Yes — vehicles, electronics, pharmaceuticals, aircraft, marine vessels, industrial equipment, and consumer goods. Any product with an Asset ID has a Digital Twin™.
Can I access my product's Digital Twin™?
Yes. If you own a product registered on IDFlow, you can see its complete Digital Twin™ — history, service records, warranty status, and recall information.
What if a service centre doesn't use IDFlow?
You can upload physical service records manually. When the service centre joins IDFlow, they can verify and link the records.
Is the Digital Twin™ available internationally?
Yes. The Digital Twin™ is global. Products can be tracked across borders — essential for international supply chains and second-hand markets.
What does it cost?
For consumers, accessing their product's Digital Twin™ is free. Manufacturers and service centres subscribe to the Enterprise plan for Factory API™ access.
